CEP 810: teaching understanding with technology
INSTRUCTORS: C. MARCOTTE & L. WOLF
CEP 810 educates teachers on various psychological perspectives to better aid teachers when developing relationships with students, parents, and co-workers. This course provides the tools so teachers can apply these perspectives and theories to the practice of teaching. This course digs into the TPACK theory (Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge) and gives teachers the opportunity to incorporate most effective pedagogical practices to teaching content with the aid of technology. Teachers learn how to incorporate the TPACK framework into their teaching by using the framework and explaining how it is used within each course assignment.
CEP 811: adapting innovative technology to education
INSTRUCTORS: W. MARSLAND, A. PIETROWSKI, & L. WOLF
The focus of CEP 811 is to take what we have learned as educators and most effectively repurpose the tools we have acquired. This class digs deeper into the TPACK framework by allowing educators to experiment with new and old technologies within teaching. These experiences are rooted in the "maker culture" and creativity. Teachers explore various online movie editing software, maker kits (such as Squishy Circuits), creating a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), and various other forms of technology.
CEP 812: applying educational technology to practice
INSTRUCTORS: S. BEAUCHAMP HICKS & L. WOLF
CEP 812 is the third and final course in the Educational Technology Certificate Program sequence. This course focuses on ways technology can be used to address various educational related problems. In this course, peers collaborate and examine a high priority educational problem, in which they address the problems and potential solutions. CEP 812 also provides various opportunities for educators to reflect on the ways they receive and filter information; sometimes we filter out what we need to hear vs what we want to hear. This course seeks to aid educators in becoming well-rounded critical thinkers.

This knowledge help teachers to better understand the people they work with and provides tools for teachers to use in the setting of the classroom. Teachers are given the opportunity to write a grant proposal for technology that can be used in the classroom.
