In a universe so vast, we are merely specks of dust. Some may feel insignificant knowing this. I, however, feel we are a vital part of one large interconnected system. In teaching about science, I hope to ignite this passion and purpose within my students. I believe that although science is logical and factual, it is also beautiful and mystical, having the potential to leave one feeling captivated. Teaching allows me to impact the lives of others, while igniting a sense of curiosity and awe within my students. It is my vocation to teach others; it’s what I love and what I am great at.
Currently, I am in the Masters of Educational Technology (MAET) program at Michigan State University. In the summer of 2015, I will obtain my MA. Presently I reside in Lansing, Michigan and work as a science teacher at Eaton Rapids High School. I teach Biology, Earth Science, and Chemistry. In my experience as an educator, I have found that integrating creativity, hands-on, and visual learning techniques through the use of technology is extremely useful for students. I believe a classroom conducive to learning is one based on passion, creativity, and care for one another. |
